A two-year-old boy has been reported dead after he drowned in an open septic tank in Bayzhin Across, Abuja.
The boy was said to be playing with his friends close to the tank around 11.30a.m. on Friday when the incident happened.
City News gathered
from one of their neighbours that the mother was busy with her domestic
chores when the boy left the house to play with his mates.
She said the victim
came back to the house few minutes later and took a N100 note and was
about going out with it when the mother collected it from him.
"He was playing with his friends when he suddenly fell into the open septic tank which was almost filled with water," she said.
The neighbour added that the boy had already died before he was removed following an alarm raised by the landlord.
City News learnt that the body was later taken to a private hospital in Kubwa where it was certified dead.

Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Chief Superintendent Nuruddeen Sabo,
said the remains had since been buried by the parents.
